Walking with a Limp

Today, Lead Pastor Kevin Barton guides us through the profound events of Genesis 32, where Jacob encounters God in a life-altering wrestling match. This extraordinary moment leaves Jacob with a limp, symbolizing his transformation, and his name is changed to Israel, marking a new identity through God's grace.
We draw a powerful parallel to the story of Paul, formerly known as Saul, who pleaded for God to remove the thorn in his flesh. Yet, God’s response in 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) echoes through time: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
These narratives remind us of a deeply spiritual truth: our weaknesses and struggles are not barriers to God’s work—they are the very places where His grace can transform us. Today, we are invited to surrender our own battles with sin to God, allowing His grace to flow within us and accomplish what only He can—true healing and restoration.
